ABOUT LABE
This is the official website for LABE (Louisiana Association for Bilingual Education).

LABE is a part of NABE (National Association for Bilingual Education).  The objective of both organizations is to promote learning in two languages.  This is beneficial for students in the language majority group who are learning a second language and for students in language minority groups who are learning English as a second language.
LABE was founded in 1977 by a group of educators to ensure that language minority students have equal education opportunities.

You can join LABE if you are an Immersion Program Teacher, English as a Second Language Teacher, a Foreign Language Teacher, a Bilingual Teacher or if you are a Principal or Administrator at a school that offers any of these programs.
Also, you can join LABE if you are a Parent interested in the Bilingual Education.
The main benefit of joining this organization is that you will belong to a professional network that organizes different events to enhance your abilities to teach another language.  The events include national conferences, state meetings and workshops.
Membership to LABE is available through this site . If you would like to become a member, click the yellow link below to fill out an application and send it to the address on the form.
Please, feel free to contact members of the LABE Executive Board.
